As part of both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded, players have been introduced to a brand new collaboration with Amazon’s The Boys. This new crossover sees three characters join the fight as Operators: Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir.
Outside of new Operator skins and themed cosmetics, the collaboration has also brought with it new elements of gameplay — the Temp V Field Upgrade. This handy little item grants players one of four random superpowers upon use. Players could find themselves blessed with a Charge Jump to leap impressive distances, an Electric Shockwave to create dizzying explosions and injure opponents, Teleport to warp an Operator to higher ground, or Laser Vision which causes the activating Operator to levitate and shoot a laser beam from their eyes.
The latter of the powers is the one that’s already causing the most trouble. The Laser Vision shoots beams that are so powerful they pretty much melt any enemy caught in the gaze. The power is meant to replicate one that Homelander possesses himself and, according to Activision, leaves players open to backfire. Position yourself in a way that covers your back however, and the power leaves Operators nigh on unstoppable.
Warzone Homelander Laser Vision Is “Ridiculous” Say Fans
Known Call of Duty account @ModernWarzone posted their opinions on the limited-time feature, saying “Homelander’s Laser Vision is OP in Warzone.” The tweet was very quickly met with plenty of fans sharing the sentiments. “What is happening bro cod is getting worse and worse,” one comment read.
Others pointed out that certain gameplay features, such as slide canceling and halting reloads, were missing from Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone over fears of it affecting the realism of the game. Adding superpowers, and OP ones at that, has left parts of the playerbase feeling confused.
Activision have yet to confirm whether or not they’ll be making any nerfs to the Laser Vision, though the feature will only be in-game for a limited time. Despite that, many players have called on Activision to make this a LTM (limited-time mode) instead, rather than having the powers appear in regular Battle Royale matches.
Other new features that have emerged as part of the Season 4 Reloaded content update include the Diabolical Camo Challenges, which see players complete a series of challenges to earn themselves two new camouflages. Curious to know what you need to do? Check out our guide!
