How To Fix Error Code Diver In Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2

Getting hit with the error code "Diver" in Warzone 2? Here's how to fix it.

Anyone who’s played even a few hours of Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 will know that the games have never been without their problems. From bugs to crashes, there’s usually something cropping up to dampen the experience. Every now and then, players will get hit with an error code, usually given a specific code name to indicate that something is wrong.

These error messages are usually pretty vague, and players will have two main things to work out: What does the error code mean, and how do you fix it? Some players have found themselves encountering the error code “Diver” with little information that explains how to deal with it. Below, we’ll explain exactly what error code “Diver” means, and how you can resolve it.

What Is Error Code Diver In Warzone 2 & MW2

The first thing to note is that error code “Diver” isn’t platform specific — it can occur regardless of which system you’re playing Warzone 2 or MW2 on. It actually refers to when either game experiences an issue downloading a file or patch. Upon trying to launch the game, you’ll be hit with this error message and prevented from jumping into any matches.

Now that we know what causes error code “Diver” to appear, we can start to think about fixing it. Luckily, there are some easy solutions that should set you back on the path to fast-paced matches.

Check For Updates

It’s possible that your copy of the game is missing some recent updates, or has failed to automatically download them. Given that both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are live service games, you’ll need the most up to date version in order to play. There are ways to check for updates depending on your platform:

  • Check For Updates On Console: Press the Menu button and select Check for Updates
  • Check For Updates On Battle.net: Click the Settings icon and Check for Updates
  • Check For Updates On Steam: Right-click on the title, select Properties, and then click Updates

Check Server Status

It’s possible that your games are fully up to date, and that the issue actually lies with the servers. Occasionally, error code “Diver” will appear if Warzone 2/Modern Warfare 2’s servers go down. In this case, all you’ll be able to do is wait until they’re back online. To check the server status, you can head to the Activision Support Page.

Connect via LAN

If the issue is being effected by your connection, then switching to a wired connection via a LAN ethernet cable could help the situation on either console or PC.

Restart Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2

One of the easiest solutions, and usually one that players try first. Restarting Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 could give the game the push it needs to download the right updates or files. You should do a bit more than just restart the game, however. Close the game then switch off your PC or console. Restart your system up and open the game once more. Doing so may laos trigger the update to download as intended.

Reinstall Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2

This one is a last resort, as we all know how hefty those game files are. If nothing else has worked so far, then removing and reinstalling Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 should give the game the push it needs to fix itself.
