Warzone 2 Instant Death Bug: Downed State Not Happening

Warzone 2 features a ton of new and exciting content for players to enjoy. Whether it be trying out new weapons or playing in the DMZ mode, there is enough content here to keep players occupied for hours!

Unfortunately, the launch of Warzone 2 was anything but smooth, with several bugs and glitches affecting players. One such bug Warzone 2 players are currently experiencing on all major platforms is an instant kill bug. Unlike some of the other less impactful bugs surrounding Warzone 2's launch, this bug is game-breaking, and players are not at all pleased. Thankfully, there are several things you can do to fix this problem while waiting for Activision to patch the game. 

What Is The Warzone 2 Instant Death Bug

The Warzone 2 Instant Death Bug is where players are killed instantly instead of getting knocked. Usually, when suffering fatal damage, players are placed into a "downed" state. In this state, they can crawl around on the floor until being revived by a teammate. This instant-kill bug completely skips the downed phase, instantly sending players to the gulag or eliminating them from the game. 

Getting downed is a crucial mechanic in all game modes and having it skipped is clearly a bug on Activision's end. The presence of "self-revive" alone is evidence that getting knocked should still be present in-game because if players are supposed to be instantly killed, self-revive would be useless!

How To Fix The Instant Death Bug In Warzone 2

Players are reporting that the instant death bug only occurs after being killed once and winning the gulag. Before the first death, players will be downed and can be revived endlessly by teammates. However, after winning the gulag, the instant death bug will be in effect. 

Thankfully, Raven Software (one of the developers of Warzone 2) is aware of the problem and has added it to their "to fix" list on their official Trello page. All players can do is wait for the fix and try their best not to die in-game!
