Warzone 2 Proximity Chat: How To Turn Off And On

As players dive into Warzone 2's giant Al Mazrah map, there is plenty of new and exciting content to explore and unlock. One of the best additions to Warzone 2 is the proximity chat function. Previously, in Warzone 1, Death Comms allowed players to hear a short soundbite from whoever killed them. Warzone 2 is upping the ante, allowing players to communicate with anyone around them!

This feature brings back memories of old-school Modern Warfare 2 pre-game lobbies and depending on your reaction to that statement, you may want to turn Proximity Chat on or off! Whether you want to mute other players' voices or you're down for a little lighthearted trash talk, here is everything you need to know about Proximity Chat in Warzone 2.

How To Turn Proximity Chat On And Off In Warzone 2 & DMZ

Here is how you can turn proximity chat on or off in Warzone 2 & DMZ:

• Open the Settings menu (you can press the options button on your controller or navigate to the small cog in the top right corner of the menu screen).
• Navigate to the "Audio" tab. 
• Scroll down to the "Voice Chat" option and select the slider next to "Proximity Chat."
• You can now choose to turn Proximity Chat off or on to your liking. 

Proximity Chat should be on by default, but if you accidentally turned it off somehow, the above method will also allow you to turn it back on. 

How To Fix Proximity Chat Not Working In Warzone 2 & DMZ

If you are experiencing issues with Proximity Chat in Warzone 2 & DMZ, there are several things you can do to fix the problem. These are as follows:

• Make sure your Proximity Chat setting is on using the above method. 
• Make sure your microphone is plugged in and is set as Default in your audio settings (PC).
• Make sure you are not muted either on PC or console. 
• If your voice chat settings are set to "Push to Talk," make sure you are pressing the corresponding button when trying to chat. 

Proximity Chat is a great addition to Warzone 2 and can make certain game modes a lot easier. But if you don't want to deal with any kind of toxicity that comes with voice chat, you can just as easily turn it off!
