Best Games To Play As A Streamer On Twitch

Looking to bring more viewers into your stream? Check out this list of the best games to play on Twitch that are sure to grab people's attention.
Best Games To Play As A Streamer On Twitch

More and more people are looking at streaming as not only a fun hobby but a sustainable source of income as well.

With several Twitch streamers on multi-million dollar contracts, it is no surprise that people want to sit in front of a camera and play games all day for a living.

However, having a fun personality usually isn't enough to increase your viewer count. Especially on Twitch, playing the right game is crucial to improving your stream. So, here is a list of the best games you can play as a streamer on Twitch!

5. World of Warcraft

MMORPGs have been a mainstay of Twitch since the site's conception. While there are plenty of alternatives to choose from nowadays (such as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn), WoW is a game that has stood the test of time.

The great thing about MMORPGs is that they allow for greater interaction with your viewer base. Popular streamer Asmongold, when not missing out on mount drops, would often host competitions with people from his stream.

Building a community is a big part of making it on Twitch, and excelling in an already community-driven game will go a long way to making your stream a success.

4. Hearthstone

Hearthstone is still the king of the TCG gaming world, pulling in thousands of viewers (and millions of dollars) on a daily basis.

Unlike intense MMORPGs or reflex-based MOBAs, Hearthstone is a turn-based card game allowing the streamer to interact with their chat freely. Keeping up with people's messages and making newcomers feel welcome is a big part of being a streamer.

It can get difficult to thank a sub or donation while in the middle of an all-out dogfight. In Hearthstone, it is super easy to glance over at your chat, answer a quick question, and return to the game with no issue.

3. Fortnite

The game that arguably propelled Twitch culture into the mainstream (with the help of Tyler "Ninja" Blevins), Fortnite continues to see high viewer counts across the board.

With how much Twitch drama and adult personalities surround the site nowadays, it is easy to forget that a large majority of viewers are, in fact, children. And what do children like?

Fortnite is a game that is easy to pick up yet difficult to master. It's a game with an ever-evolving scene resulting in a lot of future content to draw material from.

2. Minecraft

Considering Minecraft is one of the most popular games of all time, you might want to think about brushing up on your diamond farming mechanics.

Speedruns, casual playthroughs, and hardcore deathless survival runs are all on the cards for Minecraft streamers.

Minecraft pulls hundreds of thousands of viewers on a daily basis, and thanks to the unique modding scene, there is never a drought of content.

1. League of Legends

League of Legends is, was, and will forever be the king of Twitch streaming. The game consistently pulls in 100,000+ viewers at all hours of the day.

You might think this would make the League of Legends section far too saturated. However, you are far more likely to gain viewers playing a popular game like League of Legends than you are speedrunning Cooking Mama 2 in a section all by yourself.

Getting better at the game and using unique characters, all the while having an energetic personality, is how to best maximize your time in the League of Legends section.

Take the face of League of Legends himself, Tyler "Tyler1" Steinkamp. Tyler1 gained notoriety for his toxicity but also for his exceptional skill with a then lesser-used champion, Draven.

Félix "xQc" Lengyel also gained a massive following for his talent while playing a seldom-played character in Overwatch, Winston.

Setting yourself apart from the crowd while ensuring a crowd is out there watching is why League of Legends is the best game to stream on Twitch.

Getting started on Twitch is no easy task. However, by picking up one of these games, you've set yourself up for an advantage in one of the most competitive environments in the world.

Good luck!
