Pokimane To Distance Herself From Escalating Twitch Drama

Popular internet icon Imane "Pokimane" Anys has a history of being vocal about contentious matters, recently expressing her disapproval of gambling on Twitch. While the pressure of notable streamers going on strike eventually compelled the Amazon-owned platform to ban gambling, the company continues to be embroiled in controversy.

On 21st September 2022, Pokimane came out to share her take on all the unfolding Twitch drama linked to Mizkif and Maya's alleged "cover up" of CrazySlicks's sexual assault on creator Adrianah Lee. In a Livestream, Pokimane said she was "appalled" by everything and intended to distance herself from other streamers.

During a 21st September 2022 Twitch Livestream, Pokimane opened up with her followers about the slew of controversy surrounding the streaming platform. "I don't really know how to answer people [...] that are asking me about my thoughts on anyone or if I'm homies with certain people," Pokimane said.

The Twitch streamer continued, "To be honest with you, at this point, I'm appalled by so many things. I just don't want to be involved in anything, really. I want to be like homies with my OTV friends, and stream sometimes, and vlog, and post sh*t. But the Twitch scene -- it's a lot. Jesus Christ."

Pokimane's reluctance to want to associate with other Twitch streamers anymore quickly gained traction on the Livestream Fails subreddit, receiving nearly 4,000 upvotes from the community. Top commenter TwodayWeRaid supported Pokimane's take, expressing how doing rare collaborations has proven successful for other streamers.

"Look how well it works for Forsen, Moonmoon, Limmy, [and] lots of others to mention, but these came to mind. They rarely collab with anyone and are very rarely in any drama (other than the unspeakable Forsen drama)," the Reddit user said.

Pokimane has been outspoken about several issues in the past, having engaged in a minor spat with fellow internet star Corinna Kopf regarding Twitch's gambling ban recently. In this regard, only time will tell whether Pokimane's proclivity to comment on contentious matters is enough to still keep her out of the drama.
