Marvel Snap has welcomed Snap Packs, the game's new card acquisition system, which saw the retirement of its previous system, the Spotlight Caches. This system was rolled out in a new patch update on 29th April 2025, for which they'll allow Snappers still to use the Spotlight Caches system for a limited time to gain the new week's card, the Hydra Stomper, until 1st May 2025 through a "forced update."

Second Dinner has provided Snappers with additional information and answers to the Snap Packs' most frequently asked questions (FAQ) on their official Discord server and later in a separate developer post. One interesting detail was revealed in the FAQ section regarding the acquisition of base cards, which will be introduced in a future patch update.

According to the official patch notes shared to the Marvel Snap Discord server and in a developer post, Second Dinner shared some additional information on new features that will be added to the Snap Packs system in future updates. These include themed custom packs like "X-Men," "Discard," or “Creator’s Deck of the Week” that are in development, of which the "exact timing is still to be determined."

Additionally, a feature will be added to Marvel Snap to help Snappers fast-track their card acquisition of unowned base cards by obtaining their Variant cards. "Whenever you acquire a Variant for which you do not own the base card, you will be granted the base card for free along with it," which the developer later clarified that this "will also be retroactive for all players!"

This means that should Snappers acquire the Bullseye Dan Hipp variant card and not own the Bullseye base card; they'll be able to obtain the base card by acquiring the Variant card for free. Like with other features and changes coming soon for the Snap Packs system, the developer has stated that this feature will arrive to Marvel Snap "in a future patch" as the "exact timing is still to be determined."

Lastly, it was stated in the aforementioned developer post that Snappers will receive a free Series 5 Collector's Pack, which will be delivered to their Inbox after updating the game client. However, this was placed on hold as Second Dinner ran into a bug, as confirmed by Senior Community Manager Griffin Bennett on Discord, that the development team is fixing the issue and will forward the free pack to all Snappers once it is resolved.
