We're halfway into the current season for the card battler, Marvel Snap, which welcomes multiversal heroes (and villains) from the Marvel Animation anthology series "What If...?" to the game. The next character to join the battlegrounds of Marvel Snap is one of the show's main antagonists, Infinity Ultron, whose purpose is to eliminate Earthly threats with the powers of the Infinity Stones.

Those who have watched the animated anthology series will know how Ultron acquired his powers, but for Snappers, it may be somewhat confusing regarding his card mechanics in-game. This guide details everything we know about Infinity Ultron while exploring its card abilities, highlights key synergies and counters, and provides three unique decks that feature this card for Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Infinity Ultron Card Abilities Explained

Infinity Ultron is an artificial intelligence creation from the minds of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner with the intention of being utilized for an international peacekeeping initiative. It gained its coding from the power of the Mind Stone with the sole purpose of protecting Earth from any and all threats; however, Ultron concluded that it's humans that are the biggest threat, which he carried over his intelligence into an android body before eliminating Thanos and gaining the Infinity Stones.

This is the series of events that occurred across multiple episodes of the Marvel Animation series, "What If...?", and now this cosmic entity has made its way to Marvel Snap to eradicate all threats from the battlefield. At its launch, Infinity Ultron is a five-Cost and six-Power card with an On Reveal ability to add two Ultron Infinity Stones to the hand.

Much like Thanos, each Ultron Infinity Stone token card has an ability that plays into various deck archetypes and sub-archetypes, but it will mostly synergize with On Reveal cards and decks. Below is what each of the Ultron Infinity Stone token cards does when played:

  • Infinity Mind Stone [3/2] - Ongoing:" Your On reveal abilities here happen twice."
  • Infinity Power Stone [3/2] - On Reveal:" Double Infinity Ultron's power."
  • Infinity Reality Stone [3/1] - On Reveal:" Add a Drone here. Set its power to Infinity Ultron's."
  • Infinity Soul Stone [3/3] - On Reveal:" For each of your full locations, give one of your cards there +2 Power."
  • Infinity Space Stone [3/4] - On Reveal: "Move the lowest-Powered enemy card here to the location of Infinity Ultron."
  • Infinity Time Stone [3/1] - On Reveal: "Put a card from your hand here."

It's worth noting that each Ultron Infinity Stone token card is a three-cost card, which can only be played once Infinity Ultron is in play to add the Stones to their hand. However, adding Magik into decks with Infinity Ultron may give them extra time to set up their playline to maximize the Stones and Infinity Ultron's potential.

Regarding Infinity Ultron's counters, some of the notable cards like Debrii will clog locations, which is detrimental to Infinity Ultron as Snappers will need space to play the card and the Stones out, Cosmo (and Mystique to copy its ability) to prevent On Reveal abilities from happening and any Move drivers like Stegron, Aero and Magneto that can reposition cards elsewhere. Likewise, the more significant counters like Gorgon, which increases Cost to created cards, Shang-Chi to destroy ten Powered cards, and Shadow King, which resets Power to mostly On Reveal cards.

As such, Snappers can acquire Infinity Ultron via the week's Spotlight Caches by spending Spotlight Keys or purchasing the card from the Token Shop for 6,000 Collector's Tokens. Snappers also have the option to wait for the launch of Snap Packs in an update on 29th April 2025, as this card will be featured in the Series 5 Seasonal Packs.

Best Marvel Snap Infinity Ultron Decks: Infinity Ka-Zoo

Infinity Ultron may not be the best card for a Zoo or Ka-Zoo deck, but it's worth a shot! (Picture: Second Dinner / Untapped.gg)

Infinity Ultron has been one of the most hyped cards following the "What If...?" season reveal; however, upon close examination of each Ultron Infinity Stone, neither card appears to synergize well with the other. They are very weak pairings like the Infinity Space and Time Stones, but some possess high Power output like the Infinity Power, Reality, and Soul Stones; however, the Infinity Mind Stone synergizes well with all the other Stones and can play with various cards and archetypes like Ramp, Power Buffs, S.H.I.E.L.D. (card generation), and Zoo/Ka-Zoo decks.

Our first spotlighted deck looks at one of the above-mentioned deck archetypes, Zoo, which premises on playing as many low-Cost cards (mostly one-Cost cards) each turn, courtesy of Marvel Snap content creator ReZ Snapper. This deck excludes Squirrel Girl, which takes up a lot of board space, but the key card featured is Quinjet to reduce the Costs of cards that didn't start within the deck, like the Ultron Infinity Stones.

This deck includes cards that give power buffs to cards or locations, like Ant-Man, America Chavez, Okoye, Ka-Zar, and Blue Marvel, while Psylocke (Hope Summers or Luna Snow) can provide extra Energy to play out the Ultron Infinity Stones or Infinity Ultron itself promptly. This deck also features a few Ongoing cards (Ant-Man, Quinjet, Wong, Ka-Zar, Iron Man, and Blue Marvel); Spectrum is included to buff these cards, and possibly one Ultron Infinity Stone if added to the hand.

Best Marvel Snap Infinity Ultron Decks: Infinite Energy Gen

Generate cards to the hand and deck as good targets for Kahhori and Victoria Hand. (Picture: Second Dinner / Untapped.gg)

The next deck that will be spotlighted is a hybrid of two notable archetypes, Wiccan Ramp and card generation, the latter of which gained a substantial boost with the releases of Victoria Hand and Kahhori. The Ramp archetype requires playing cards per turn to gain extra Energy from Wiccan to "cheat" out Infinity Ultron and play him early with a few cards that will be generated to their hand or deck, and gain Power from Victoria Hand and Kahhori.

This "infinite" Ramp/card generation-style deck from Marvel Snap content creator dddrewsky also includes Quinjet for cost reduction, of which the first three turns can see a combo of various cards played like Maria Hill, Snowguard, Zabu, and Kate Bishop, with the Arrows being played. This should allow them to play Wiccan on Turn 4 for +2 max Energy, for which all cards generated can be targeted by Kahhori once she's played to give some cards in play +1 Power.

Other ways to generate cards to their hand can be achieved through Frigga, Moon Girl, and Infinity Ultron, which can be played if Quinjet is in play and not countered by Red Guardian, Rogue, or Enchantress. This should allow Snappers to play the two added Ultron Infinity Stones and Victoria Hand on the final turn for a widespread power buff if they get their playlines correct and secure a victory!

Best Marvel Snap Infinity Ultron Decks: Surfin' To Infinity

With Infinity Ultron adding two three-Cost Stones to the hand, these are great targets for Silver Surfer to hit and buff their Power! (Picture: Second Dinner / Untapped.gg)

The Silver Surfer archetype is the best synergistic home for Infinity Ultron, regardless of which two Ultron Infinity Stones are added to the hand. Both Ultron Infinity Stones are three-cost cards, making them great targets for Silver Surfer and other great support cards frequently paired with this specific archetype, like Luna Snow for Energy, but alternatively, Hope Summers can be factored in if Snappers are worried about Killmonger.

While keeping that in mind, we've opted to feature this "Infinity" Surfer deck from Marvel Snap content creator Alexander Coccia, which includes a bevy of powerful three-Cost cards, and yes, Quinjet is featured here, too. Magik has a guaranteed slot in this deck to extend the game by one turn, which will be valuable in ensuring Sera is played to discount all cards in the hand, reducing their cost by one.

We have a few power buffing cards in Forge, which can be used for Brood and Galacta if their first card is played at an adjacent location, as well as Luna Snow and Hope Summers for extra Energy. This will help get Infinity Ultron and its Infinity Stones out and in play, with Sebastian Shaw being played to get a buff from Galacta (or Forge) before Silver Surfer and Absorbing Man on the last turns.
