Halloween is nearly upon us, meaning that so is Dead by Daylight's biggest event of the year, Haunted by Daylight. The event comes with tons of cosmetics and charms as rewards, a Halloween currency, and a limited-time Event Tome with tons of challenges. Here's everything you need to know about Dead by Daylight's Haunted by Daylight 2023 event, from its rewards and gameplay modes to the limited-time currency.

Haunted By Daylight 2023 Start Time & End Date

Haunted by Daylight 2023 will begin 18 October and end in early November, according to the game's Year 8 Roadmap, which lists an event between these dates.

Last year's event - during which players could collect Void Energy - took place from 13 October to 3 November 2022, so we could expect that this event would take place during a similar timeframe.

Haunted By Daylight 2023: Rewards & Currency

Dark Trinkets Currency

Players will be able to earn a special event currency called Dark Trinkets to trade in for the cosmetics. Dark Trinkets will be earned by completing challenges in the Event Tome. Any unused Dark Trinkets will be converted to Bloodpoints at the end of the event. 

Each Challenge in the Event Tome will give 15 or 30 Dark Trinkets each, while the end node in the Tome will provide 200 Dark Trinkets.

Halloween Rewards

Haunted by Daylight 2023 contains new Halloween Sweaters for survivors and Candy Weapons for killers, for a total of 16 brand-new cosmetics. Each reward will cost 175 Dark Trinkets.

Esoteric Generators & Hooks

Returning for 2023 Haunted by Daylight Event are the decorative Esoteric Generators and Esoteric Hooks, which will grant survivors and killers respectively extra points for interacting with them. Players will also need to interact with these objectives to complete event Challenges in the Event Tome.

Haunted Boons And Traps

Also active during this event will be a new gameplay feature called "Haunted Boons," as well as possibly "Haunted Traps" for killers. It's unclear how Haunted Boons will affect existing Boon perks, or how Haunted Traps will work; it's possible that these in-game mechanics could be triggered by picking a certain challenge in the Event Tome.
