Diablo Immortal Essence Mastery Level: Extract Essence Energy Guide

Everything you need to know to increase your Essence Mastery Level in Diablo Immortal by extracting more Essence Energy.
Diablo Immortal Essence Mastery Level: Extract Essence Energy Guide

With Diablo Immortal Season 9, Blizzard has introduced a new system allowing players to extract Essence Energy from Legendary items, further increasing their character's power via Essence Mastery Levels.

This guide explains how you can get more Essence Energy, the changes to Legendary power extraction, and how you can ultimately become stronger via increasing your Essence Mastery Level, so let's get started.

Before we get started, first check out an explanation from Blizzard below as to why this system of Essense Master Levels has been implemented:

We have made this change to aid in improving the experience of finding duplicate Legendary items, and for farmers to gain power slightly faster, but without creating an overbearing obstacle for more casual players. Additionally, we wanted to create increased build diversity, providing players the ability to further specialize their builds if wanted. We recommend taking a look at your essence list to see what new synergies might be available to you now.

Before this feature, Diablo Immortal players had two options when finding a Legendary item. They could either salvage it for materials or extract its power. Both methods destroyed the item in the process.

You will now receive Upgrade Materials on the first extraction for every Legendary Essence. Therefore, you do not have to choose between gaining a Legendary Essence or Upgrade Materials.

Essence Mastery Level is essentially a new way to get stronger. When it rises, it further enhances the strength of your Legendary powers. For example, some skills might get additional cooldown reduction or receive a damage bonus. You increase your Essence Mastery Level by extracting Essence Energy from Legendary items.

You can check your current Essence Mastery level at the NPC called Zamina, which is where you will also extract more Essence Energy in Westmarch. Here, players can also check what bonus they will get for increasing their Essence Master to the next level.

To get more Essence Energy, you will essentially need to get more Legendary items. The first time you extract a Legendary power, you will get both the crafting material and the power. Following the first time with a specific legendary, when you extract another one of the same types, you will get Essence Energy.

Blizzard does warn that if you extract multiple Essence Energy from a particular Legendary item, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain Essence Energy from it. At some point, you will no longer be able to extract Essence Energy from a specific Legendary item in Diablo Immortal.

We hope this guide has helped Diablo Immortal players understand what the new Essence Mastery Level and Energy is all about and how they can further increase their Nephalem's power. If anything about this new gameplay system changes, we will endeavor to update this article.
