Payday 3's Closed Beta runs from 2 to 7 August 2023 before the game's release on 21 September 2023. Those who participate in the Closed Beta might want to know if progress carries over.

We can confirm that progress will not carry over to the game's full release on either platform (PC/Xbox). This includes weapon level, character progression, and Infamy Level.

In the official FAQ for Payday 3's Closed Beta, developer Starbreeze Studios explained that:

No, progression from the PAYDAY 3 beta will not carry over to the release version of the game. This is true for both the Steam beta and Xbox beta.

With an official answer from the developer, there's no need to speculate. No, none of your progress will carry over, but you will be able to experience most weaponry, four characters, and one Heist named "No Rest for the Wicked."

There will be one Heist available during the Closed Beta called "No Rest for the Wicked." The original characters will also be available, namely Hoxton, Wolf, Chains, and Dallas. There's an Infamy level cap of 22, and you can take your weapons up to level eight (8).

While some might not like the answer, it is a good move by the developer, so everyone can start on equal footing when the game releases on 21 September 2023.
