Twitch streamer and political activist Hasan "HasanAbi" Piker recently slammed comedian Dave Chapelle over anti-trans jokes in his Netflix special, "The Closer." Hasan cited how he was disgusted and disappointed with Chapelle's "boomer-ass takes on trans people."
Dave Chapelle was at the centre of criticism when his show aired in October after many viewers found Chapelle's "jokes" offensive toward members of the LGBTQAI+ community. News reports also revealed that some Netflix employees outright walked out in protest against the show's release after pent up tension reached its breaking point.

Hasan subsequently criticized Chapelle's Netflix special despite claiming that he was a fan of his prior work. "I was endlessly disgusted. Boomer-ass Dave Chapelle with his boomer-ass takes on trans people; it was disappointing, to say the least," Hasan said.
Continuing to criticize the show, Hasan said: "Even if you're a Dave Chapelle fan like I am, seeing a mid-ass standup special was like kind of f*cking sad. But, like, objectively okay, it was a mid-ass f*cking standup special that was straight-up just a boomer yelling about things he cannot understand."
Hasan concluded by saying that anyone who found it funny is a "massive bootlicker" that "can't see anything outside of that."
Dave Chapelle recently opened up about the mounting criticism in a 5-minute video uploaded onto Instagram, dismissing the public outcry as "nonsense."
Dave Chapelle responds to backlash amid anti-trans jokes in Netflix special
"It's been said in the press that I was invited to speak to the transgender employees at Netflix, and I refused. That is not true. If they had invited me, I would have accepted it, although I am confused about what we are speaking about," Chapelle said.
Chapelle continued to say that he doesn't want his fans to blame the LGBTQAI+ community for "any of this sh*t" and that it has "nothing to do with them," claiming that it's about "corporate interests and what I can say, and what I cannot say."
Toward the end of the video, Chapelle said: "To the transgender community, I am more than willing to give you an audience, but you will not summon me. I am not bending to anybody's demands. And if you want to meet with me, I am more than willing to," before outlining certain conditions.
Chapelle requested that anyone willing to meet with him first (i) watch his special from beginning to end, (ii) meet at a location at the date and time of his choosing, and (iii) must admit that Hannah Gadsby is not funny.
"You cannot have this conversation and exclude my voice from it; that is only fair," Chapelle concluded.
