UPDATE: Twitch is back but some users are still reporting that it is running slowly.
Twitch - the popular streaming platform - is currently down with users reporting being unable to access their favourite streamers from locations all over the world.
The service went down at approximately 10.50 pm GMT on Monday 27th April, with users being able to access the main page, and see what streams are live, but unable to actually watch any content.
Twitch confirmed the servers were down via the Twitch Support Twitter stating they were, "investigating an issue that is causing the site not to load properly." Promising to update users "when we know more".
🔎 We are investigating an issue that is causing the site not to load properly. We will update you when we know more.

It is unclear currently what is causing the outage but Twitch was down for a period of "routine maintenance" at approx 11:00 am GMT.
⚙️ We will be performing scheduled maintenance on 4/27 at 3am PDT. During this time, some creators will not be able to go live, or their broadcasts may not be available. We do not expect this to last longer than one hour. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

With everyone kicked off Twitch you can bet they jumped to Twitter to get the memes in and the community duly obliged.
