Popular Canadian streamer Félix "xQc" Lengyel has been banned from Twitch, the streaming platform confirmed today.

Furthermore, the streamer forfeits winnings and receives a 6-month ban from Twitch Rivals events.

In the statement released on 18th November, Twitch Rivals explains the reasons behind this decision.

"At GlitchCon our player conduct rules were violated. We require all participants to abide by the same rules in order to play in a tournament," Twitch says in the statement.

"As a result, xQc has been issued a temporary Twitch account suspension, a temporary Twitch Rivals ban & forfeited associated prize money."

The incident happened on 14th November, during the Twitch Rivals Fall Guys tournament at GlitchCon.

The Twitch Rivals Super Team tournament finished up with a Fall Guys event, where GrandPOOBear came out on top. However, it was during a tie-breaker for third place where the drama unfolded.

xQc was already eliminated from the tournament but decided to wait and grab an opponent who was still competing, to hold him back from qualifying so that xQc's teammate could ensure a qualifying spot.

xQc apologised immediately after, saying that what he did was wrong.

Still, the apology wasn't enough and Twitch states that they take Twitch Rivals player conduct "very seriously", and that what xQc did is "unacceptable and will not be taken lightly".

This is xQc's fourth ban on Twitch and the third in 2020.

The streamer has been banned in June after showing explicit gorilla clip, and before that in February when he removed a bra from a video game character after winning a game of Connect Four.

While Twitch has confirmed that his suspension is temporary, many think that this time around he has crossed the line, including his fellow Twitch superstar Shroud who had this to say following the incident:

"He does that, and all my respect is quite literally gone," Shroud stated "I'm in disbelief, he literally just made Twitch history, that never happened before. No big partner has ever done that."
