CoD 2024: Leaks, Rumors, Everything We Know So Far

2023 saw the return of Modern Warfare in the Call of Duty mainline entries. While players have been vigorously enjoying what Modern Warfare 3's Multiplayer has to offer, many felt that the game's Campaign was seriously lacking. It's no surprise that fans are looking ahead to 2024's CoD release for something they can sink their teeth into.

But given that Modern Warfare 3 launched this past November, it's still early days for Activision who have yet to announce the next step in the franchise. Thanks to a number of rumors and educated speculations, we have a vague idea of where Call of Duty could be heading in 2024. Below, we'll be discussing everything we know so far about CoD 2024, including leaks, rumors, and more. 

Call of Duty 2024 Title Leaks, Rumors, Speculation

At the time of writing, Activision have yet to announce the next Call of Duty title. Despite this, a number of leaks and rumors have surfaced that claim that CoD 2024 will be a new Black Ops title.

The last Black Ops game was Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which released in 2020. The title, like all Black Ops games, was developed by Treyarch. It's a safe bet, then, that should CoD 2024 be another Black Ops title that Treyarch will once again be at the helm.

According to outlet CharlieIntel, this new title will have had a four-year development cycle, the first in Call of Duty history to do so. 

Call of Duty 2024 Setting Leaks, Rumors, Speculation

It's still early days for any sort of official setting to be announced by either Activision or Treyarch, but rumors seem to suggest that CoD 2024 will be set during the Gulf War era. This would make sense if the game was a continuation from Black Ops Cold War which, as the title suggests, was set in the Cold War which took place in the 1980s. The Gulf War setting would track chronologically, as it took place in the 1990s. 

Call of Duty 2024 Release Date Leaks, Rumors, Speculation

Working out the timeline for the next Call of Duty release is a little easier than some of its other elements, mainly because they typically release roughly around the same time. Players can likely expect CoD 2024 to be released late-Fall, between late-October to mid-November. We can check out the release dates for previous titles to give some idea of the timeframe:

• Modern Warfare 3 (2023) — Release date: November 10, 2023 
• Modern Warfare 2 (2022) — Release date: October 28, 2022 
• Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021) — Release date: November 5, 2021
• Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020) — Release date: November 13, 2020 
• Modern Warfare (2019) — Release date: October 25, 2019 
• Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (2018) — Release date: October 12, 2018 

Call of Duty 2024 Speculated Beta Dates

Given that we can safely assume CoD 2024 will be launching in either October or November, we can speculate a timeframe for its beta dates. Typically, open betas are held a month ahead of release. So, if CoD 2024 launches in November, expect to see a beta in October. An additional, shorter beta may even be held a month earlier, say September.
