If you are a fan of the Call of Duty franchise, then you must be thinking, where is the infamous hardcore mode in Modern Warfare 2? Well, you are not alone, as even others are not able to find this game mode in the game.
The Hardcore mode has been part of the Call of Duty series since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It allows players to have a realistic experience of the battlefield. When you launch the Hardcore mode, most of the HUD, including your crosshair, ammo counts, etc., will be removed. Along with this, it will also enable friendly fire, and the operators will have less health.
The Hardcore mode has been renamed, and in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it is known as the ‘Tier-1.’ In the official Blogpost by Activision, it was mentioned that the Tier 1 mode would be available at the game's launch, but that is not the case yet. This made everyone confused, and Infinity Ward has addressed everyone’s questions.
When Will Modern Warfare 2 Hardcore / Tier 1 Mode be Release?
Infinity Ward has confirmed that they have not released Hardcore / Tier 1 mode, but it will be available “soon” in the game.
While no exact date has been mentioned by them, we expect it to arrive with the release of Season 1, which is on 16th November.

In the meantime, we can suggest you grind the game and unlock different items before the start of Season 1 to get to a better start. We will update this post as soon as the Tier 1 mode is available, along with all the new features added to the mode.
