Modern Warfare 2 Gold Camo Not Unlocking

In Call of Duty Modern Warfare, there are a lot of different cosmetics and skins that you can unlock. A lot of these cosmetics can actually be unlocked through a little bit of grinding rather than spending real money. One of the skins that are the perfect example of this is gold camo for your guns.

But players have been running into a problem lately when it comes to gold camo. There are bugs that prevent players from either unlocking the golden camo or from selecting the camo after it has been unlocked. Here, we go over how to fix both bugs so you can equip the gold camo.

Gold Camo Not Unlocking Bug And How To Fix It

In Modern Warfare 2, there are a couple of different Mastery Camo skins that you can unlock for your guns. These mastery camo skins are to show off your skills with that weapon and are rewarded to players who do well in the game. One of the mastery camo skins is gold camo, which has been a mainstay of Call of Duty for years.

To unlock the golden camo, players need to complete four different challenges for that particular gun before they can see the last challenge to unlock the gold camo. The problem is that when players complete these challenges, they are unable to see the last challenge to unlock the gold camo.

Thankfully, this is only a visual bug. Players can still complete the fifth challenge to unlock the gold camo, even if they do not see the challenge itself. The challenge is that players need to get at least 3 kills without dying 10 times. Once players do that, they have unlocked the gold camo for that weapon.

Cannot Select Gold Camo Bug And How To Fix It

Unfortunately, that is not the only bug related to the gold camo. Players have reported that after they unlock the gold camo, they cannot select it. This can be frustrating because the payoff for all that work seems to be locked away due to a bug.

Thankfully, there is a workaround for this bug. If a player is on PC and they want to select the gold camo, they need to use WASD controls to select the gold camo. Players on consoles will want to use the D-Pad instead of the thumbstick to select the gold camo. Through this, players can get around these bugs and use the gold camo for their weapons.

That is how you get around the gold camo bugs in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Hopefully, Activision will release a patch that fixes these bugs in the near future.
