Although Infinity Ward is yet to announce the official release date, a notable leaker, who goes by @TheGhostOfHope on Twitter, reported that Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play will release shortly after the launch. Unfortunately, no one knows when it will come to Modern Warfare 2.

The leaker has also claimed that Treyarch will lead the mode's development. Therefore, there's a high chance that they'll be using the same set of rankings and skill ratings for the matchmaking system.
