How to Get Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Early Access

Cyberpunk 2077's highly anticipated expansion, Phantom Liberty, is almost here. Containing a brand new storyline, players once again take on the role of V, pulling out all the stops to save the NUS President. Phantom Liberty will take place in the district of Dogtown, where tactics of espionage and infiltration will become crucial.

Those eager to check out this new expanded world of Cyberpunk 2077, as well as take in all the ways the game has evolved since its tumultuous launch back in 2020, will be keen to take their first steps into Phantom Liberty. While the expansion is set to launch on September 26, 2023, can players jump in early?

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: How To Play Early Access

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty doesn't have a traditional early access period. This means that there are no early access pre-order bonuses or codes that'll let you jump in days early. Instead, to play early, players will need to utilize the oldest trick in the book — the New Zealand timezone. 

This works by taking advantage of Phantom Liberty's release time. On Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, Phantom Liberty will launch at midnight regardless of region. This means that those in New Zealand will get to play earlier than those in other regions. If you're playing on PC, the release time is 1 a.m. CEST.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: How To Change Region Settings

If you want to play Phantom Libery early, you'll need to change your system/console region settings to New Zealand. This is easier to do on Xbox where players will just need to tweak a few settings:

1. Open Settings on your Xbox.
2. Head to 'System'.
3. Select 'Language & Location'.
4. Change your location to New Zealand.
5. Restart your Xbox.

If you're on PlayStation, sadly the method isn't as straightforward, but it is possible. Instead, players will need to create themselves a new account and set their region to new Zealand. Keep in mind that this account will be tied to New Zealand from here on out. 

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty PC Release Times: Can You Get Early Access?

The timezone trick won't work on PC, sadly. Instead, PC players will need to wait until the game releases at the right time to access Phantom Liberty. The game will release on PC at these regional times:

• Monday, Sept. 25 - 4 p.m. PT
• Monday, Sept. 25 - 7 p.m. ET 
• Tuesday, Sept. 26 - 12 a.m. GMT
• Tuesday, Sept. 26 - 1 a.m. CEST
• Tuesday, Sept. 26 - 7 a.m. CST
• Tuesday, Sept. 26 - 8 a.m. KST
• Tuesday, Sept. 26 - 8 a.m. JST
