With the Call of Duty League Launch Weekend set to start in Minnesota on 24th January, the League has announced changes to the competitive ruleset that will be used.

CDL Settings are in effect, and the temporary ban on Specialist streaks has been lifted. Players in the Open Bracket should create classes with Specialist before joining the game lobby.
In the announcement, it was stated that “CDL Settings are in effect, and the temporary ban on Specialist streaks has been lifted. Players in the Open Bracket should create classes with Specialist before joining the game lobby.”
The website post detailing the changes explained that “Competitive Call of Duty rules adjust over time. The rules below represent the settings in place for the Call of Duty League Launch event in Minnesota” while making sure to mention that the competitive settings V1.6 have been developed in coordination between League Administration and representatives (players, coaches) of the Call of Duty League.

The following changes have been made to the CDL Ruleset:
All Modes
- Gameplay Settings (New Settings Added)
- Allow Field Upgrades: Enabled
- Field Upgrade Charge Rate: Normal
- Field Upgrade Score Modifier: Normal
Domination
- Advanced Settings (New Settings Added)
- Zone Neutralization: Enabled
Restictions
- Marksman Rifles (All)
- Crossbow
Unrestricted
- Specialist streaks (Temporary) – Restriction has been lifted
All maps will be played using in-game CDL settings.
These changes come after a clip of the Challengers tournament being played in a parking garage spread across esports social media and claims that the practice facilities for the 11 visiting teams were not working while the Minnesota RØKKR players were able to play in their own facility.

It is also still unknown how fans can watch the event on different platforms, with the assumption that the official Call of Duty Twitch channel will host the games not officially confirmed. The one confirmed broadcast is on MLG.com.
