Over the weekend it was officially announced by Phil Spencer, T-Shirt Wearer, and Xbox Boss, that a binding agreement had been signed by both PlayStation and Microsoft to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation systems after the conclusion of the FTC trial that had taken over the gaming landscape. Now, we seem to have a few more details on that deal.
Spencer’s tweet was vague on what the binding agreement actually entailed, and whether it was a deal that would last in perpetuity or if it was a deal with a very specific window. Now, thanks to Axios journalist Stephen Totilo, it appears as if the deal is a ten-year one. Totilo states that he confirmed the deal with contacts at Sony.
Totilo also stated that he managed to only get the details on the length of the contract, with no news on whether PlayStation can expect any PlayStation Plus access to the popular series of shooters. As far as we know, this deal doesn’t include any other Activision Blizzard titles, so those games will likely be worked out on a case by case basis.
