It’s the Epoch of Madness in Diablo Immortal, a new era with exciting additions and a tonne of content on the way. The game’s next big content update, called The Writhing Wilds, is releasing on 20 March 2025, and with it, three new Legendary Gems!
Specifically, Diablo Immortal players can also look forward to completing a new main quest, driving the ever-evolving world of Sanctuary forward, a new Battleground map, and system overhauls. The new Legendary Gems, however, are one of the best ways to further increase the power of your character, and always one of the most exciting aspects of a new Diablo Immortal update, so let’s take a look.
All New Diablo Immortal Legendary Gems & Effects
There are new 1-Star, 2-Star and 5-Star Legendary Gems for Nephalem to discover in Diablo Immortal with The Writhing Wilds update. Each of these powerful new Gems has a unique effect, which I can already see working well with my favorite class, Barbarian.
There’s Colossus Engine (5-Star), then Specter Glass (2-Star), and finally Faltergrasp (1-Star). The latter might be super good for PvP as well, so keep that in mind. Check out the unique effects of each new Legendary Gem below. Stats are Rank 10.
Colossus Engine (Five-Star Gem)
Granting yourself a Buff also grants you Colossal Strength for 6 seconds, increasing your Skill damage by 50%, while also increasing your size and Skill range. Additionally, Colossal Strength also grants you immunity to knockback effects for 4.8 seconds. Colossal Strength cannot occur more often than once every 20 seconds.
Specter Glass (Two-Star Gem)
Critical Hits shatter enemy armor for 2 seconds, increasing the damage they take from you by 28% and increasing your Critical Hit Chance against them by 4%. Cannot occur on the same target more often than once every 6 seconds.
Faltergrasp (One-Star Gem)
Critical Hits disable enemies, preventing their use of Dash skills for 3.6 seconds and reducing their Movement Speed by 24%. Cannot occur on the same target more often than once every 20 seconds.
Of course, you can get all three of these Legendary Gems from using Crests during Rift runs, and getting a bit lucky. While the Faltergrasp and Specter Glass should be relatively commonplace, the 5-Star Colossus Engine Legendary Gem will require quite the grind.
I do expect that Blizzard will implement a system where there’s a 50% chance for a limited time, to get the Colossus Engine whenever you would receive a 5-Star Gem drop, which does help. As always, players will be able to toggle this option on and off, since they might not want the Colossus Engine…
