In this guide, we outline everything you need to know about the WoW Dragonflight Dreamsurge events, from the timing to zones, the buffs, and the rewards players can earn, so let's wake up and jump in!

Due to the growth of a new World Tree, energies of the Emerald Dream are spilling out across the Dragon Isles, and players are invited to "unite and face the onslaught of the Dreamsurge." In essence, Dreamsurge is a new public event in WoW Dragonflight released with the Fury Incarnate update.

To start off, players can head to Valdrakken and speak to the NPC Hamuul Runetotem for the "Surging Dreams" quest. You can also head directly to the Dreamsurge icon on your map to start fighting right away.

Each week, a new zone gets invaded on the Dragon Isles. The zones where a Dreamsurge can appear are:

  • The Waking Shores
  • Ohn’ahran Plains
  • Thaldraszus
  • The Azure Span

In terms of timing, every 30 minutes, a major Waking Dream portal will open in the zone affected by Dreamsurge. This is a group event. Blizzard explains:

Champions must work together to defeat the onslaught by defeating the Druids of the Flame, destroying their altars, and dragonriding through their reinforcements circling above. Once complete, prepare for a fight with a Flame Lieutenant who drops Charred Elemental Remains once he is defeated. During a Dreamsurge, minor Waking Dream portals are also found scattered across the affected zone; these can be defeated by solo players or small groups.

Dreamsurge Public Event Buffs

While a Dreamsurge is active, that WoW Dragonflight zone will have a Dreaming Winds buff, providing 25% increased experience for those leveling in the area.

Furthermore, every 30 minutes, when a Dreamsurge is active, players in the region participating in the event will be able to vote to select an additional powerful or chaotic buff for that region.

Dreamsurge Rewards in WoW Dragonflight

You can head to Celestine of the Harvest with your Dreamsurge Chrysalis currency to purchase several rewards. First up, you can get Dreamsurge Chrysalis by completing the weekly quest "Shaping the Dream," tasking players to collect x100 Dreamsurge Coalescence.

The rewards you can get from the Dreamsurge event are:

  • Renewed Magmammoth mount
  • Duskwing Ohuna mount
  • Cheddar
  • Crimson Swoglet
  • Dreamsurge Remnant
  • Friendsurge Defenders

So, how can you get Dreamsurge Coalescence in the first place? Well, you can complete activities such as killing rare elites, opening hidden stashes, and completing world quests in the affected zone.

In case you've been taking a long nap and missed it, check out the cinematic trailer for the WoW Dragonflight Fury Incarnate (10.1.7) update below and get ready to push back the Emerald Nightmare on the Dragon Isles.
