WoW WotLK Classic - Retribution Paladin PVE Guide

Players are excitingly playing WoW WotLK on classic and are constantly building amazing characters. There are plenty of classes for players to choose from in this expansion.

From the Fire Mage class to Retribution Paladins, players have a load of options available to them. Here, we are going into detail on how you should build a Retribution Paladin for PvE.

How To Build A Retribution Paladin For PvE

The very first thing you will need to do is decide which race you are going to go for if you aim to become a Retribution Paladin. Thankfully, you are able to become a Retribution Paladin no matter if you are part of the Horde or the Alliance.

But if you are in the horde, you can only become a Retribution Paladin if you are a Blood Elf. But Blood Elves are not weak Paladins at all. They can cast Arcane Torrent, a spell that silences all non-player enemies within 8 yards for 3 seconds. They also have Magic Resistance which gives you an extra 2% chance of dodging spells.

If you are part of the Alliance, you should definitely choose to be Human. Humans have Sword Specialization and Mace Specialization which increases your expertise when holding two-handed swords or maces. Humans also have the Diplomacy passive which increases your reputation gained by 10%

As for your profession, you should highly consider the Engineering profession. You can increase your low mobility with the Nitro Boots this way. If you are highly against engineering, then consider Jewlcrafting for the stat increases

Skills And Talents For Retribution Paladins

Take a look at the talent build that you should aim for when making a Retribution Paladin (Picture: Blizzard Entertianment/Icy-Veins.com)

A quick note about the Paladin's talents and abilities; Judgement has been reworked and is now split into three different types of Judgment. There is Judgement of Wisdom, Judgement of Justice, and Judgement of Light.

As pictured above, you can see what kind of Talent Build you need to aim for as a Retribution Paladin. 55 points should go to Retribution, 11 into Holy, and 5 into Protection. Focusing more on Holy over Protection will give you more DPS for PvE.

Having a good skill rotation is vital for PvE to make sure you have maximum efficiency against mobs.

Here is the Retribution Paladin PvE single target rotation:

  1. Seal of Vengence
  2. Crusader Strike
  3. Judgement of Wisdom
  4. Divine Storm
  5. Consecration
  6. Exorcism
  7. Holy Wrath (only stuns against Undead and Demons)

Here is the Retribution Paladin PvE AOE rotation:

  1. Seal of Command
  2. Consecration
  3. Divine Storm
  4. Judgement of Wisdom
  5. Holy Wrath
  6. Crusader Strike
  7. Exorcism

With this information in hand, you are ready to build a Retribution Paladin for PvE combat.
