WoW Dragonflight Neltharus Dungeon Guide: All Bosses

Players will have a ton of new content to enjoy as they explore the Dragon Isles, thanks to the new World of Warcraft Dragonflight expansion. This entails discovering fresh dungeons, facing new bosses, and finding new treasures. If you're interested in learning how to take down the bosses that lurk inside the Neltharus, one of these new dungeons, we've got you covered.

The Neltharus dungeon's bosses are all broken down in detail below, along with information on how to take them down and, of course, what rewards you can expect in WoW Dragonflight.

WoW Dragonflight Neltharus Dungeon Guide: All Bosses

Neltharus can be found in the Waking Shore and is one of the higher-level dungeons in the expansion. You won't be able to enter the dungeon until you have level 70, the expansion's highest level, and to be more precise, the dungeon's entrance is located north of the Ohn'Ahran Plains.

There are four bosses inside Neltharus, and they are listed below in the order that you will encounter them as you move through the dungeon. However, the first three can be taken on in any order, with the final boss being unlocked after defeating the previous three. We'll also break down each boss's move set, how to take them down, and the loot you can expect to find after doing so.

Neltharus Dungeon Boss - Cargath, Bane of Scales

Chargath, Bane of Scales is a simple boss fight with only one phase. When the boss's Energy reaches 100, it will cast Fiery Focus on your tank, dealing AoE damage up to 6 yards away. It will also cast Lava Splash on the ground for you to avoid.

First, avoid the incoming Magma Wave, after which the boss will occasionally target a random member of your party and cast Grounding Spear, dealing initial damage and applying Grounding Chain, which slows their movement speed by 40%. The boss will also cast Grounding Spear on up to three players on Mythic difficulty, so be aware of that if you're part of a smaller party. 

Be aware that there will be a lingering magma pool of Erupted Ground around the spear that you should avoid as it deals extra damage. Lastly, dodge the ground pools of Lava Splash which deal heavy damage to multiple players at once.

But to make this boss easy to defeat, simply avoid its AOE (area of effect) attacks and bait him into focusing on a few players while the rest attack him from behind. Alternatively, just wait for the cooldowns of his attacks to counter and deal damage until it falls. 

Cargath, Bane of Scales - Loot

Neltharus Dungeon Boss - Forgemaster Gorek

After defeating Chargath, Bane of Scales, proceed up the stairs to the Chamber of Flames, where Forgemaster Gorek can be found. Forgemaster Gorek is also a simple boss to defeat, as long as you avoid the Blazing Eruption from the Blazing Aegis.

If you are targeted by Blazing Aegis, use whatever defensives you have on hand to protect yourself. Finally, avoid the Forgestorm ground puddles at all costs because they cause significant damage and when you see the boss hurl its hammer into the forge to perform the Forgestorm, just back up to avoid the AOE damage, and move back in to deal some damage until it is defeated.

Neltharus Dungeon Boss - Magmatusk

When the fight begins, Magmatusk will have two stacks of Magma Tentacle at the start. It will then cast Volatile Mutation and gain a stack of Magma Tentacle every time it reaches 100 Energy. Next, you'll need to watch out for the Lava Spray, which has a long frontal cone effect and targets random players. Avoid it, as it deals some decent Fire Damage. 

The boss will also occasionally cast Blazing Charge on a random player, sending them flying across the room until they hit a wall. The charge will travel more slowly if you are stacked close to a wall and "bait" it though, so if you can't avoid it in time, head to a wall as fast as you can.

Lava Wave will be triggered once Magmatusk has charged the wall, and the more stacks of Magma Tentacle it has, the more waves will spawn. Finally, Blazing Charge will also leave a Liquid Hot Magma trail on Mythic difficulty, so avoid it at all costs. 

Avoid the initial cast of Magma Lob on the ground, and be aware that it leaves Liquid Hot Magma in the same location. Furthermore, on Mythic difficulty, the boss will gain Lava Empowerment if it remains in the Liquid Hot Magma puddles.

Once you have a hang of all the Magmatusk's abilities, just avoid its attacks where possible and attack from a distance. This should result in a quick victory as long as you don't get caught off guard.

  • Stat - Mastery/Haste
• Back - Mammoth-Trainer's Drape
  • Stat - Mastery/Crit
• Cloth Shoulder - Molten Magma Mantle
  • Stat - Haste/Crit
• Trinket - Mutated Magmammoth Scale
  • Stat - Agi/Str
• Dagger - Searing Tusk Shard
  • Stat - Int, Mastery/Vers

Neltharus Dungeon Boss - Warlord Sargha

When this boss reaches a maximum of 100 Energy, it enters an intermission phase where Warlord Sargha will cast Magma Shield (which lasts 45 seconds) on herself and pulse Flame Eruption every 3 seconds, causing everyone to become Flame Vulnerable. The boss will also cast The Dragon's Eruption on Mythic difficulty, which you should avoid at all costs as it deals high damage over a wide area.

Moving onto the fight itself, Avoid The Dragon's Kiln's frontal cone of fire, as well as Burning Ember's initial fire projectile and its follow-up Burning Ground effect. Furthermore, it will spawn Raging Ember, which will activate Burning Pursuit on a random member of your party; focus it quickly and eliminate it. The Raging Ember will have Magma Shell on Mythic difficulty, making it much more durable. 

So be sure to focus as many of your heavy attacks on the Warlord Sargha and be sure to avoid the ground hazards such as Burning Ground. Have the healers stay in place to buff the tanks on the front lines and rotate to safety and back into attack position until the boss falls.
