WoW 2024 Roadmap Schedule, Content & Details

Attention, heroes of Azeroth! Blizzard has a tonne of World of Warcraft (WoW) content planned for 2024, as shared by the official roadmap, leaving us with much to look forward to.

Let's take a look at the content schedule and details for WoW in 2024, including Dragonflight Season 4, big updates, The War Within, and more.

WoW 2024 Roadmap & Content Schedule

The image above says it all: 2024 is a year packed with content for WoW players to enjoy! Before we get to the content schedule, let's take a look at what Blizzard had to say about their WoW plans for 2024:

In modern World of Warcraft, you’re going to see three more content updates for Dragonflight arriving before World of Warcraft: The War Within releases next year. In these updates, we’ll be wrapping up the story for this expansion and laying the foundation for our next one. Dragonflight Season 4 will revisit Dragonflight’s dungeons and raids, along with outdoor content, featuring updated rewards, and a few new twists. Then, in the Spring/Summer, we’ll ask for your feedback when the War Within expansion alpha and beta tests drop.  We will continue to communicate details, dates, and more goodness as we get closer to content updates, just like this year! 

Blizzard also teased some surprises they have in store for us, not revealed in the WoW 2024 roadmap. 

Below, you can check out a list of all the confirmed WoW 2024 content and broad schedules. Keep in mind that the details indicate northern hemisphere seasons, so for those in the southern hemisphere, Summer is Winter, etc.

January 2024 WoW Content

The Seeds of Renewal update (10.2.5) releases with a tonne of content, from Follower Dungeons to the Reclamation of Gilneas, the Outland Cup, old-world dragonriding, and a Hearthstone anniversary event!

Update 10.2.6 with a skull flag was also teased for "Winter 2024," with no additional details currently available.

Spring 2024 WoW Content Schedule

The War Within alpha releases alongside Dragonflight Season 4. The latter will include new open-world rewards, a new PvP season Mythic+ rotation, and more. This should be patch 10.2.6.

We will also see WoW update 10.2.7 release, entitled Dark Heart, which includes Timerunning Pandamonium, Harbinger quests, and a new holiday event. The War Within's beta test also begins somewhere in the Spring and Summer of 2024.

Summer 2024 WoW Content Schedule

Summer 2024 is going to be a big period for World of Warcraft fans, as The War Within's beta will be underway. Then, we can also look forward to The War Within's pre-patch (11.0.1) featuring Guild updates, Dynamic Flight, Warbands, and World Events!

This all leads to the release of the highly-anticipated expansion, The War Within, which currently only has a release date window of "Summer 2024."

Autumn 2024 WoW Content Schedule

We don't know much about the first big The War Within content update, scheduled to release sometime in Autumn 2024. The patch version will be 11.0.5 and usher in "new content and system updates," alongside more story quests, and the WoW 20th Anniversary event.
