Developer Infinity Ward is taking cheating in Call of Duty: Warzone very seriously. Infinity Ward announced on Twitter they have banned over 70,000 Warzone cheaters in an effort to protect the game.
The game has been out for just over a month, releasing as a free-to-play, standalone Battle Royale title on 10th March 2020. With the third season releasing last week, Infinity Ward has taken a strong stance against Warzone cheaters.

It is great to see Infinity Ward stepping up, and banning Call of Duty: Warzone cheaters. These cheaters can primarily be found on PC, where it is obviously the easiest to cheat.
With a no-nonsense, zero-tolerance stance on Warzone cheaters, things can only get better. However, since the game is free-to-play, cheaters can easily create new accounts, and keep on cheating.
Infinity Ward has a big task ahead of them, and as the developer explains, they are continuing to deploy security updates. Call of Duty: Warzone players can, of course, help out by reporting those they suspect of cheating.
It will be interesting to see which other methods Infinity Ward deploy to combat cheaters in Warzone, and how the developer will overcome the hurdle of cheaters simply creating new accounts, over and over again.
It is, however, a good sign that the developer is attempting to clean up the game.
