Modern Warfare 2 Season 5: Faction Showdown Explained
Faction Showdown, the first of this season’s three events, will be a limited-timed event. According to the Call of Duty Blog, this event will see the return of Graves and the Shadow Company. Players will see themselves choose a side, either Task Force 141 or the Shadow Company. Regardless of which faction players choose, the objective is the same: Earn 50 Operator Kills.
Players can choose a faction by heading to the Events tab in the in-game menu. Here, they’ll be able to complete the main challenge and access additional faction-specific challenges to earn all Event rewards. For example, if you side with Task Force 141, expect additional challenges that cater to their tactics such as Finishing Moves, melee weapons, and Battle Rifle longshots.
Side with the Shadow Company and players can expect additional challenges centered around stealth, SMG eliminations, or utilizing a Loadout to the fullest. Completing challenges for either Task Force 141 or the Shadow Company will earn players Tier Skips, Vehicle Skins, and a Weapon Blueprint. Players will also earn a Calling Card and an Emblem just for participating.
The faction that wins the event overall, by having the highest number of community Operator eliminations, will earn an additional reward — a free Operator skin for either Soap or Horangi, depending on which faction wins. On top of that, the winning side will also receive a weapon camo and a Double Battle Pass XP Token.
