Escape From Tarkov Adding Wipe Prestige System

After Battlestate Games hosted the Escape from Tarkov live stream on the 19th of July, broadcasting their future updates and plans for that title within the coming months, lead Developer Nikita Buyanov released several pieces of exciting news containing plans for implementing a Wipe Prestige system. The prestige system wasn't all, the Livestream featured an entire roadmap of future plans and upcoming changes, also releasing new promo codes.

The new prestige system within Escape from Tarkov is going to allow players to increase their stash size permanently for various wipes, bringing them benefits useful to lower edition holders of the game. It seems unusual that Battlestate Games would introduce such rewards, players who have the standard edition will be gradually able to work up to obtaining Edge of Darkness edition stash sizes. Players that obtain the Edge of Darkness edition of Escape from Tarkov may receive much motivation to obtain such rewards due to their automatic advantage, however, we're expecting to see other rewards to motivate the entirety of the player base. 

Escape from Tarkov Wipe Prestige System Explained 

As previously mentioned, the prestige system will allow players to increase the size of their stash permanently, causing a level of confusion amongst the Escape from Tarkov community. However, that's not the only benefit we can look forward to hinted lead developer Nikita Buyanov. The prestige system allows players to obtain achievements and end-game quests that perhaps compete with the glory of obtaining Escape from Tarkov's Kappa container. 

The implementation of a Prestige system allows players to have something to work towards for the entirety of a wipe. Typically, players enjoy the first two-three months of an Escape from Tarkov wipe extensively before slowly voiding away from the title and waiting three-four months for the next wipe to occur; repeating the cycle. Giving players an end goal, especially rolling over into the next wipe will change the player mentality completely. Currently, players think "Wipe not fun, wait until next" whereas now players will think "Must achieve prestige to benefit next wipe," almost adding a long-term future into the cycle of Escape from Tarkov wipes which players have undoubtedly lacked for the prior years of Escape from Tarkov gameplay.
