- Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale mode is believed to be releasing 10 March
- Activision has yet to confirm the Battle Royale mode even exists, despite gallons of leaks
- It’s believed to be a standalone release too
Activision has yet to even acknowledge the existence of a Battle Royale mode coming to Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, but it seems the release date may have been revealed.
After teasing trailers, the discovery of the map and a “CLASSIFIED” menu option, it’s almost bizarre Activision and developer Infinity Ward have yet to confirm a Battle Royale mode, believed to be called Warzone, is on the way.
All signs pointed towards an imminent release date, but it seems we might have a little while to wait before Warzone arrives in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.

According to development sources speaking to VGC, Warzone’s release is “at least a few weeks away” – with the site suggesting 10 March as a likely candidate considering updates traditionally release on Tuesdays.
It’s believed Warzone will release as a free-to-play standalone game, like Fortnite and Apex Legends, while also being an additional mode for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare players.
This is notable difference from the franchise’s previous Battle Royale mode Blackout in Black Ops 4, and suggests Activision is hoping to emulate Fortnite’s constantly evolving success and treat Warzone as a standalone platform beyond future entries.
If you go to Atlas Superstore in a private match and become the COD caster you can explore the entire map. It is all low quality because you don’t see it in regular gameplay. I flew all the way up in the sky to get the overview 🙂 pic.twitter.com/QpiVaBd7Un

It’s important to note this is all unconfirmed, although it’ll be a bigger surprise if a Battle Royale mode doesn’t release at this stage.
Could Warzone spark a new esport within the Call Of Duty League too? We’ll have to wait and see.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
