With the arrival of Warzone Season 5, players can expect to see tons of new content arriving as we hit the final season of Warzone. Season 5 is hitting hard with a new LTM, two brand new weapons to choose from, and of course tons of balance changes to shake up the meta.
Part of these balance changes see the LMGs receiving some slight alterations in the new season, and if you’re an LMG user wanting to know what you can expect from Season 5, then you’re in the right place. Below you can find our tiered list ranking the best LMGs to the worst for Call of Duty Warzone Season 5.
Warzone Season 5 LMG Tier List – Best Light Machine Guns In COD
Light machine guns, also known as LMGs, are a cross between an assault rifle and a heavy machine gun, with similar power and ammunition capacity to Submachine guns. Light machine guns can be heavy, slowing your movements, and they don’t always have the best handling.
They do, however, excel at medium-long range fights where overwhelming your opponents is the goal, and are ideal for players seeking a balance of range and power. Our tier description and list of the best light machine guns in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 are provided below.
Tier rank description:
S-Tier: Weapons that are at the top of the rank and do not require any upgrades to be the best at what LMGs do; however, they can be upgraded to be even more powerful and dominate the game.
A-Tier: When combined with the appropriate attachments, these weapons can compete with S-tier weapons and outperform the tiers below at the base.
B-Tier: LMGs in this tier are in the middle of the options available, and with the right loadout, they can be formidable, but not the best.
C-Tier: LMGs in the C-tier are rarely worth considering as your primary weapon, but they can be good backup options if equipped with the best attachment options.
D-Tier: Last is the trash tier, as these LMGs will not serve you well in any way and should not be considered for your loadout.

S-Tier Assault Rifles
Holding its title firmly in the S-tier is the trusty ol’ reliable Bruen Mk9 which can still be considered the best LMG in Warzone according to the current meta.

A-Tier Assault Rifles
The UGM-8 has recently received nerfs, effectively eliminating it as a competitor for the Bruen Mk9; however, this may change with Season 5.
As noted by Raven Software, the weapons’ “Sustained Recoil [has been] Slightly Adjusted” this season. It remains to be seen how this will affect the meta surrounding the weapon, but for the time being it remains in the lower tier.

B-Tier LMG
These LMGs are statically comparable to the ones above without any buffs or nerfs in Season 5, but they are currently less well-rounded. We advise giving any of these LMGs a shot to see if you can uncover an LMG that’s being slept on.
The Type 11 has also received a buff this season, so we will have to wait and see how it affects the meta, and whether the Type 11 LMG deserves a spot in the A-tier.

C-Tier LMG
Since none of the LMGs in C-tier have received any buffs as of the time of writing in Season 5, they are still somewhat viable but need massive improvements to encourage more players to take learning them seriously.

Finally, it’s not even worth thinking about these LMGs. They lack anything special in their load-outs, are Heavy, and have terrible control. These should be avoided at all costs.
