Call Of Duty Vanguard Zombies Season 5 - What Is The Archon?

Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 5 officially releases on 24th August 2022 and is the last major seasonal update of the series. It’s been a wild ride for players nearly a year since the game debuted. Its final season will feature various new events, five new weapons, maps, and more ahead of Modern Warfare 2's highly anticipated release.

On 18th August 2022, Activision announced all the information entailing Season 5 for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. The season, entitled “Last Stand,” comprises a Hero vs. Villain theme, boasting several new Operators. Another aspect arriving is the culmination of Vanguard: Zombies with an epic battle against the greater evil, The Archon.

What is The Archon in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies Season 5?

The popular Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard will be patched and upgraded in Season 5, comprising all-new objectives, scenic environments, and various bug fixes and general improvements. This time around, players won’t just be trying to survive while cracking open some undead skulls; they’ll be fighting against The Archon.

Players will return to Egypt to sever Von List’s unholy bond with Kortifex or die trying in the upcoming installation of Vanguard Zombies, as they’ll have to confront the former lord of the Dark Aether. But before that can happen, they'll be tasked with surviving a new set of challenges, including the Trials of Sacrifice, Resilience, and Mindfulness.

Don’t fret; completing the various main and side quests might be as straightforward as one thinks, with Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 5 introducing multiple new weapons, ranging from the new EX1 Energy Rifle to the RA 225 SMG. But don’t count out any challenges.

With these additions in players’ arsenal, there will also be 20 new Zombie Season Challenges to earn bonus XP and Calling Card Rewards. Unfortunately, information regarding these challenges is not known, but we will endeavor to update you once the information becomes available.

The Main Quest will go live once “The Archon”  launches on 24th August 2022 at 9:00 PT | 12:00 ET | 17:00 BST.
