Rare Elites are one of the classifications of powerful monsters you’ll encounter when playing WoW Dragonflight, and one of these powerful creatures is The Forgotten Gryphon. So if you’re keen on finding this beast and bringing it down, then you’re in luck.
Below we’ll be breaking down everything you need to know to locate The Forgotten Gryphon, the required levels to challenge it as well as the loot you’ll gain once it is defeated, and more.
WoW Dragonflight – Forgotten Gryphon Location and Level
The Forgotten Gryphon is a rare bird or creature found in The Waking Shores. It is located on a tall hilltop southwest of the Obsidian Bulwark area. If you’re using any mods that allow you to use coordinates, the rare elite’s coordinates are 33,76.2.
Its precise location may change slightly as it does tend to roam a bit, but you can typically find it hanging around on a higher hilltop. Of course, you can utilize your dragon to fly relatively close to the location, and often you can even see it from the air before landing.
The Forgotten Gryphon has quite a beefy health bar, rocking over 2 million HP and sitting at level 64, so it’s probably worth killing when you’re a little higher leveled or in a group. It is, however, fairly simple to take down because it doesn’t have a lot of variations to its attacks; just pay attention and you’ll come out almost unscathed.
WoW Dragonflight – Forgotten Gryphon Loot and Rewards
As far as we know, this rare elite doesn’t drop anything special as far as rare items and loot, but that could always be subject to change as the game updates. For now, players who defeat the bird and nine other elite rares will gain an achievement called “Adventurer Of The Waking Shores,” so if you’re an achievement hunter, you can easily tick this one off your list.
Aside from that, there isn’t much else that makes this fight worthwhile besides 8,000 experience and the Plume of the Forgotten, which grants Haste when using harmful spells and abilities. If any additional loot drops become known, we will update our listing.
Lastly, players who can tame Feathermane pets can also tame this rare elite as a hunter pet. Before attempting to control it, you must be certain that you have fulfilled this criterion; else, you risk a quick death at the hands of the Forgotten Gryphon in WoW.
