Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare update will add more loadout slots

The issue of limited custom loadout slots is set to be addressed in a future update for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, according to the game’s art director.

Since Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare launched in October last year, players have been stuck with the same five custom loadout slots with no option to acquire more.

Past games allowed players to unlock more slots by Prestiging, a system removed in Modern Warfare. Activision have also yet to offer the ability to buy more custom slots similarly seen in past titles.

The issue however is set to be addressed in a future update, with Infinity Ward art director Joel Emslie addressing the issue in a response to a player on Reddit.

In the post, Emslie wrote: “You and everyone else that has commented on this are right. It’s in mainline back at the studio and we’ve been tinkering with it.

‘I’m not sure which update its in but I think it’s next. Believe it or not it can cause horrible bugs if not tested properly. I’m not certain about all this so don’t get fired up on me if I'm wrong. Since I’ve commented here I’ll stick with the issue at the studio.”

The importance of custom slots was reduced as Modern Warfare allows players to change weapon loadouts in-game, although this is still a welcome addition for fans of the old methods.

In comments on the same thread, he also mentioned how they’re hoping to “let you combine different blueprint attachments together to Frankenstein weapons and then apply different camos”.

Infinity Ward has released numerous updates for Modern Warfare since its release, with the latest in December adding Grind Mode.
