A new collaboration has been unveiled between Call of Duty and costume designer Courtney Wheeler which celebrates the influence of the franchise’s most iconic characters.
In response to a huge interest from fans searching for way to mimic Captain Price‘s aesthetics in their lives, this new campaign has helped to recreate Price’s utilitarian look through everyday menswear in a bespoke photo shoot with Price’s actor, Barry Sloane.
Courtney Wheeler, renowned costume designer behind FX shows such as “The Bear,” has created a guide to show fans how to recreate Price’s look themselves with shoppable menswear.
Of the collaboration, Wheeler said, “Characters are developed so well in video games that it makes it really easy to get a sense of who they are. When you’re in the fitting, you can ask questions like ‘Does this feel right for them?’ and because video game characters like Captain Price are so fully realised, it feels very similar to film and TV characters.
Price’s clothing is not just about function; it also serves to reflect his character and personality. The developers have created a world where the clothing in-game feels very intentional.”
Captain Price’s whole look has been searched for all over the internet, with over 2,000 mentions on Reddit for his iconic hat alone. There’s even entire threads dedicated to finding real world versions of his boots and jacket. Now, thanks to Wheeler, fans can start to piece together their own outfits.
