Tired of jump scares this Halloween season? Here's how to turn them off in CoD MW2 and Warzone 2's Haunting Event.

The eerie vibes of the Halloween season have made their way into Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, courtesy of The Haunting event update. However, there's a particular element that's causing some players to jump out of their seats more often than they do to avoid virtual bullets — in-game jump scares.

These jump scares, while intended to heighten the Halloween atmosphere of The Haunting event update, have proven to be a tad too intense or even bothersome for many players. This is especially the case when all they really want is to immerse themselves in the game without sudden and unexpected jolts of fear. So in this guide, we'll walk you through a step-by-step process to disable these jump scares in both Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

How To Turn Off Jump Scares In MW2 & WZ2 The Haunting Event

When it comes to deactivating the jump scares in The Haunting event, there's both good news and bad news. The good news is that players have the option to disable the jump scares in the Battle Pass section of the games, but the bad news is that this feature doesn't extend to the battle royale mode.

Here's a breakdown of how to disable the jump scares in the Battle Pass for both games:

  1. Launch either MW2 or Warzone.
  2. Access the Battle Pass menu.
  3. Press L2/LT to switch off the Battle Pass jump scares (you'll see a prompt in the top left corner of the screen).

Now, as mentioned earlier, unfortunately, there's no way to turn off these jump scares for the battle royale mode. This setting only applies to the Battle Pass menu. The developers have recently mentioned that they reduced the frequency of jump scares overall, but they will still be present.

So, there you have it – a quick guide on how to disable the jump scares in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, at least for the Battle Pass sections of the game. If there are updates regarding disabling them for the entirety of both games, or if the developers implement such a feature in the future, you can expect to find the details in this article. Be sure to check back here for updates.
