The Haunting event update has now landed in both Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, delivering a wealth of thrilling Halloween-themed content for players to indulge in. Among the various additions, one stands out: the Soul Capture event, which offers exclusive Halloween rewards to those who can meet the soul-capturing requirements.

Nevertheless, accumulating a substantial number of souls to unlock all the enticing rewards can prove to be a rather laborious task, often demanding dedicated gameplay and grinding. So, to assist you in your quest to capture more souls efficiently, we'll delve into how players can optimize their soul-farming efforts in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

How To Farm Captured Souls in the MW2 & WZ2 Haunting Event

Players have the opportunity to participate in the Soul Capture event during the Haunting Update of MW2 and Warzone 2. In this event, you can earn Captured Souls for every player you defeat across all game modes. When you eliminate an opponent, they will drop a Soul, and all you need to do is pick it up to add it to your collection.

In addition to enemy players, Souls can also be acquired by defeating monsters that lurk across Al Mazrah and other Call of Duty: Warzone maps. However, this can naturally take some time, and if you simply collect Souls by killing enemies when you encounter them (especially given the vast size of Warzone maps), you won't gather as many as you possibly could.

To maximize your Soul collection, we recommend two main methods. The first is for MW2, where you can play through multiplayer. This approach will get you matched up faster and have quicker rounds, and consequently, you'll collect more Souls for your time. Warzone players need not despair because popular influencer JGOD has outlined a solid route for farming in Warzone 2.

This method involves looting the orange Supply Drops that spawn frequently at Zaya Observatory, following the route provided by JGOD in his tweet. Once you've mastered this route, you can farm 20 Souls in around two minutes. The only downside to this method is that when other players have the same idea, you might be forced into a firefight.

While this method is the most reliable, it can become repetitive. If you're looking to add some variety, you can also try the Halloween-themed Haunting modes in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, such as Haunting Domination and Haunting Kill Confirmed. These modes feature small maps and can be the best way to accumulate Captured Souls since there's no kill limit, and it's easy to keep track of enemy spawn locations. However, your success will depend on your skill.

Lastly, you can take on the Haunting Bosses and their minions, who drop a significant number of Souls. However, due to their difficulty, you might find that the time spent defeating a boss could have allowed you to farm Zaya three times over. Ultimately, you have multiple options for amassing Souls in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, and using any of the methods outlined above will provide you with plenty of Souls to earn free rewards during this limited-time event. Happy hunting!
