Call of Duty has had its fair share of collaborations over the years, from wrestlers to anime and more. While it seems that nothing is off the table when it comes to Call of Duty and Warzone, apparently there are times when upcoming collaborations never quite make it live.
This is reportedly the case for a potential Halo x Call of Duty collaboration, according to known leaker @TheGhostOfHope. Apparently, a Halo bundle was set to arrive in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone that would introduce Master Chief as an Operator skin.
The collaboration would also introduce a number of Halo/Master Chief cosmetics and items, including weapon blueprints, emotes, and more. The collaboration would make sense, given that Microsoft owns both Halo and Call of Duty studios.
Sadly, the collaboration never came to life, alledgedly being cancelled before making it online. Reasons for its cancellation remain unknown. “Kinda crazy how a Halo x COD Master Chief collab was actually scrapped for MWIII for completely unknown reasons,” TheGhostOfHope said in an ‘X’ post.
So could there be any chance that the collaboration could return in the future? Perhaps, but it would unlikely be tied to the Modern Warfare 3 cycle. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, 2024, continuing the Black Ops storyline and takes place in the 90s.
Modern Warfare 3 skins have already been confirmed as not carrying over to the new game due to the time period that Black Ops 6 is set in, presumably to not mess with the 90s style.
