Activision Plans To Add Customizable Kill Cams For Modern Warfare 2

Multiple popular FPS games allow players to savagely watch how they met their demise from the viewpoint of the opposing player. Kill Cams have been proven to be of some use in various unexpected ways to prevent you from making the same mistake twice.

Currently, in Modern Warfare 2, players have been stumped with the game’s kill cams as even vehicles have them, and watching a replay of your death has somewhat had them biting the preverbal bullet. Recent rumors have surfaced online that Activision has licensed a patent for customizable kill cams to be added at some point to the game.

According to a Twitter user, RalphsValve, on 13th November 2022, Modern Warfare 2’s kill cams are rumored to be fully customizable, which allows players to choose between various perspectives, including Play of the Game and Final Kill.

Additionally, according to the leaked patent leaked, they’ll be able to fully customize the kill cam with various tools available on the interface. According to the Twitter user, these tools will allow you to edit the kill cam template broadly, adding or customizing the graphics, messages, audio, and video clips.

It also appears that you’ll be able to preview the customized kill cam before sharing or uploading it online, but no word can elaborate yet. This feature will likely have a set of default templates for you to select and use for the kill cam, and you can create and save any custom templates for future usage.

For now, players are laughing over the ridiculous kill cam perspective from vehicles at Crown Raceway, leading to many theorizing how this came to be. One theory involved the possibility of the kill cam initially placed in the middle of the map, which saw developer Infinity Ward scrap the idea during the game’s development.

Another possible reason is that the Crown Raceway is currently based on a real-world racetrack; however, due to licensing, which could cost Activision millions of dollars, the developer found a workaround to prevent drawing the ire of the racetrack’s owners.

Either way, kill cams have become paramount to the Call of Duty series as players continue to find creative ways of eliminating their opponents during matches. Customizing these kill cams will provide something unique that could prolong the feature’s popularity within the community and give us endless hours of entertainment.
