Deadly accurate and insanely lethal, there was really no stopping someone if they had a 725 in their hands. However, after some huge nerfs by Infinity Ward, the weapon sunk down to the bottom of the shotgun category.
However, after Season 6 of Warzone launched this past Tuesday, the 725’s number was called on yet again. Although, the base weapon isn’t going to do you much good. Instead, you’ll need the Slug Rounds ammunition attachment, as these rounds turn the 725 from a normal shotgun into a sniper rifle.

The best loadout for the 725 with Slug Rounds
(Picture: Activision Blizzard)
For this loadout to work, you’ll need to have the Slug Rounds unlocked for the 725. This happens at weapon level 32, so if you’re not there, get to grinding them come back to this loadout. For those that have reached level 32, you’re all set.
In the Season 6 patch notes, Infinity Ward revealed that it increased the damage for shotgun Slug Rounds. There was no exact percentage given for the increase but rest assured, it was fairly substantial. In the current Warzone meta, you can almost cross-map players with a single Slug Round from the 725. However, additional attachments help with increasing the range and damage of these rounds. You can check out the recommended loadout below.
- Barrel: Tempus Smooth Bore
- Optic: Solozero Optics Mini-Reflex
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
- Ammunition: Slug Rounds
- Guard: FORGE TAC Steady Grip
All of these attachments combined offer some fantastic recoil control and aiming stability. After all, the point of this loadout is to maximize the effectiveness of the Slug Rounds.
While you certainly will see some enemies up close, you’ll likely be firing at enemies from a longer distance. Thanks to the increased damage, those Slug Rounds can put down most enemies at medium-long range.
