Warzone: How to unlock R9-0 Dragon’s Breath fire rounds

Although you wouldn’t know about it from reading the game’s patch notes, the R9-0 shotgun actually saw an incredible buff in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.

A modification to the weapon’s ammo that causes fire damage to anyone hit by the shot, there’s no question that the gun has some incredible power behind it.

With Dragon’s Breath, the shotgun rounds become 3000-degree magnesium incendiary shells, which will inflict damage over time through burning, as well as doing significant damage on hit. To get your hands on the R9-0 upgrade, however, you’ll have to jump through a few hoops.

How to unlock Dragon’s Breath ammo for the R9-0

Like with many weapons in Call of Duty’s multiplayer modes, there are a couple of options to unlock the kit for yourself.

First off, you can purchase the Krakatoa R9-0 blueprint in the in-game store through the Nikto Firestarter bundle and save yourself some time.

Alternatively, you can earn it yourself by completing the gun’s challenge.

Thankfully, the challenge is a simple enough one to accomplish, especially to those who own the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer. In Warzone, however, this is going to prove a little trickier.

To unlock Dragon’s Breath ammo, players must get 10 kills with the R9-0, while sliding. Thankfully, this can be stacked over time and doesn’t have to be accomplished in a single life or even a single match.

In multiplayer, grab your shotgun loadout and get sliding. You’re sure to rack up the kills in no time and that Dragon’s Breath ammo will be yours in a game or two. If you’re a Warzone-exclusive player, bear in mind that you’ll not only have to find the weapon but also finish off enemies to complete the challenge. It’s not enough to simply down them whilst sliding.

Warzone professional gamer NICKMERCS has already made a video on the subject of the Dragon’s Breath ammo, calling it broken and stating that the loadout will ruin the game. With that said, players everywhere are itching to get their hands on the upgrade to the R9-0. After all, as the age-old saying goes: if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.
