Escape from Tarkov "Shortage" Quest - How To Complete

Need help completing Escape from Tarkovs Therapist's "Shortage" Quest? Have a read of this quest walkthrough.
Escape from Tarkov "Shortage" Quest - How To Complete

Another complete pain of an Escape from Tarkov task, Therapists "Shortage" quest. This task requires players to be on the lookout for three Salewa first aid kits around the Escape from Tarkov region and unfortunately, they need to be "found in-raid." Thankfully, the Salewa doesn't need to be handed over to Therapist in stock condition and can be already used by players/scavs in-game, however, the Salewa must spawn, be looted, and extracted from the same raid.

How to Start Escape from Tarkov "Shortage" Quest

This task is best completed on the map Customs due to the raid turnaround time and the ability to loot the Customs extensions "Crack Den" located near RUAF Roadblock extraction. Although, this task can be completed with ease on any of the following maps:

To best optimize this task it's great to view "Shortage" as a passive task, it's open but you're not directly addressing it. The facts are simple, you are going to find three Salewa kits regardless if you're playing the task or not, therefore it's recommended to play through other tasks simultaneously and when you find a Salewa, hand it over to the Therapist.

How to complete Escape from Tarkov "Shortage" task

If you decide to focus on the task to get it out of the way, you're going to find the most success running Customs. This is due to the "medical" building on customs, also known as "crack den," due to the fact it spawns Salewa's within the building. Additionally, loot boxes in Fortress are also known to spawn the first aid kits, as does the medical bag outside the back of the "old gas station," therefore, providing players with three spawn locations in the same region.

There isn't any particular "trick" or "finesse" you can implement into this task, it's just a matter of finding and securing, once obtaining the items safely extracting and simply handing them over to the Therapist. However, if you want to save money and complete this task immediately in order to continue the quest progression, enter the raid with a pistol and an empty secure container. This will allow you to quickly run around the map locating all the Salewa spawns with agility, when you die you're not losing out due to having just a small pistol. This may take a longer period of time to complete due to players mostly finding maybe one salewa a raid, but this is the best and most financially secure strategy for players to maintain after an Escape from Tarkov wipe.

Escape from Tarkov "Shortage" task rewards

Here are the following rewards for the task:

  • +2,000 EXP
  • Therapist Rep +0.03
  • 15,000 Roubles
    • 15,750 Roubles with Intelligence Center Level 1
    • 17,250 Roubles with Intelligence Center Level 2
  • 2× Car first aid kit
  • 4× Analgin painkillers
  • 4× Immobilizing splint

Despite having to complete a rather tedious task, the Therapist provides you with a couple of helpful car first aid kits, allowing you to save money on healing yourself once dying in-raid and being sent back to the menus. Additionally, proving players with another 15 thousand roubles, helping out the financially deprived after the Escape from Tarkov wipe.
