Call of Duty: Vanguard's early access beta is here and players are already trying to figure out what weapons will be the best when the game releases later this fall.

And it didn't take long for players to single out what's currently one of the best guns in the game, as content creators had a chance to test the game before everyone else, coming with an almost unanimous consensus that the MP-40 is the best gun in the beta.

The MP-40 (Maschinenpistole 40) is a well-known German submachine gun from World War II and a staple weapon in many WW2 games, including Sledgehammer's previous game, Call of Duty: WW2.

One of the few weaknesses of the MP-40 is that it can be tricky to control due to somewhat higher recoil and that's where the F8 Stabilizer and Krausnick 317MM 04B help out, as they will help you to stabilize the weapon, by making recoil more manageable and the weapon easier to handle.

The M1941 Handstop underbarrel will provide you with mobility bonuses and decreased sprint-to-fire speed, both crucial stats when playing with the MP-40, as they will help you to slide through the maps and improve your reaction time in the heat of battle.

When it comes to magazines, we are opting for the 9MM Para 24 Round Fast Mag as it will provide you with much-needed reloading speed, something that is crucial when you are in constant action. This should be paired with the Lengthened ammo type, which will improve bullet velocity, thus making you even deadlier.

Finally, we equip the Granular Grip which will suppress flinch and help us to keep our fire focused in prolonged exchanges.

For kit, we choose Quick, as it will make you sprint faster, which is what we want when playing with an SMG, and for proficiency, we choose Vital, which counts upper torso shots as headshots when applying damage multipliers. You will usually be able to hit your targets consistently in the upper torso, and this will transform those hits into headshot damage.
