Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare extends season 1 to February

Infinity Ward has announced they’re extended the first season of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare to add new items and additional challenges.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare season 1 was expected to end on 28 January, making way for the second season of new content drops.

In a new blog post, developer Infinity Ward revealed they were delaying the end of the first season by two weeks until 11 February. This will make way for new items and challenges, one of which will unlock a new crossbow weapon.

They also promise the additional weeks will see more remixed game modes and new playlists added.

In a description for the new content, they added: “During that time, there will be 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier Progression to help you finish up your Officer Ranks and Tiers, and get you ready for an exciting Season Two.”

Sure, it’s most likely Infinity Ward needed more time to polish up the next season, but it’s a nice spin on a delay at least.

This extension follows the recent addition of Gunfight 3v3 in the Gunfight Trios playlist. They also promised more loadout slots were on the horizon in a future update.

These updates come ahead of the official Call Of Duty League later this month, which sees 12 teams compete to be crowned Call Of Duty world champions. You can check out full details here.

The Call Of Duty League kicks off on Friday 24 January.
