The reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard is imminent and excitement is rapidly building up in the community.

The fact that the game is called Vanguard is no longer a secret or leak, it is now official as Activision has revealed the full name of their next Call of Duty game.

We've already seen the teaser video for Call of Duty: Vanguard, and we know that the game will be fully revealed via an in-game event in Warzone.

The official name of the reveal event is the "Battle of Verdansk", but what do we actually know about the Vanguard in-game reveal?

Let's find out.

The premiere of the Vanguard reveal event is set to happen on Thursday, 19th August, at 10:30 am PT / 1:30 pm ET / 7:30 pm CET.

If you are unavailable to play the game at that time, don't worry, you'll be able to fight in the Battle of Verdansk event more than once throughout Thursday and into the weekend, so everyone will have an opportunity to experience the in-game event, just make sure to do it before Monday.

Is there a Battle of Verdansk update?

The game will be updated with a new playlist, but the good news is that you will not need to restart your game in order to receive the update.

The playlist update will go live shortly before the start of the event and it will happen in real-time while you are still in Warzone.
This is important because Activision emphasizes that players will need to enter the game "early" if they want to secure their spot during the premiere of the Vanguard reveal, as servers will likely be overloaded.

What to expect from the Vanguard in-game reveal?

The short answer is that we simply don't know and can only speculate.

If things will be similar to how Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War was revealed last year, then a series of events will happen in Warzone, players will participate in the "Battle of Verdansk" and when everything ends they will be shown an announcement trailer for Vanguard.

We do know that the reveal will be "a Warzone PvE experience", as that's how Activision describes the Battle of Verdansk event, which means that players will probably fight together in a battle against some army invading Verdanks, in the spirit of World War II - that's both the main theme of the event and the historical era where Vanguard is set.

As promo material, Activision is sharing WW2 propaganda posters via Call of Duty socials, inviting players to join the battle, as "the glory awaits" them. The loadout drops in Warzone have also been updated, and now they have posters of the Battle of Verdansk event on them.

Speaking of in-game clues, mysterious humming red crates also appear at several locations across Verdansk, and they might be somehow connected with the event as well.

One thing we do know is that there will be rewards for all the players who participate in the event, including new weapon and knife blueprints, a new bike skin, timepiece, and more.

Ultimately, this time around Activision has managed to successfully hide all the information and stop the leaks about the event, so we will have to simply wait for the event to start and find out what have they prepared.

Vanguard is expected to be released in early November 2021.
