Call of Duty: Warzone’s new map Rebirth Island confirmed in Black Ops Cold War Season 1 trailer

Activision has officially released details of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Season 1, confirming new Warzone map Rebirth Island. 

The new map, which looks similar to the Alcatraz map from the Blackout mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, was showcased in a cinematic trailer for Black Ops Cold War’s first season.

Titled Operation Rebirth, it’s unclear whether this map will temporarily replace Verdansk or be an additional limited time mode of some kind - although more details will likely be announced shortly.

Season one for Black Ops Cold War will also feature new operator Stitch, described as an ex-KGB leader of the Nova 6 program. 

A synopsis for the new season reads: “Time to settle the score. A trap has been set. A CIA safe house has been hit. And an old enemy returns to get his revenge. 

“After storming an experimental Nova 6 production site on Rebirth Island, Russell Adler has made a powerful enemy in Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin, the ex-KGB leader of the Nova 6 program. And Stitch is looking to settle the score.

“Now, Adler and his CIA strike team find themselves trapped, and surrounded by enough Nova 6 nerve gas to throw the world off its axis.”

The trailer also appears to show a new multiplayer map, as the group arrive at Mall At The Pines in New Jersey, which looks very Stranger Things season three.

There's plenty more to expect from Black Ops Cold War's first season, including the return of Raid, new Zombies modes, a new map for Fireteam and more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One arrives on 16th December.
