Along with a full map of Fortune's Keep in Warzone, the name of the new season was also given. Season 4 is called Mercenaries of Fortune, and a June 22 date has been given for the launch. There is no official blog to outline the full season just yet, but we do know the details for Fortune's Keep.
All POI in Warzone Pacific Season 4 Fortune's Keep
Before any announcement was given for Fortune's Keep in Warzone Pacific Season 4, a handful of streamers were sent random POIs. The community was essentially tasked with using these POIs to piece together what would become Fortune's Keep. Some of the community managed to do so just before the official announcement.
- Gunsmith changes Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2
- Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded - Best meta weapons
- COD Warzone 2 Leaks Reveal a New Map Similar to Rebirth
- COD Modern Warfare 2 Task Force 141 - All Voice Actors
Now that the scramble to put the map together is over, the full map was posted online by Call of Duty, along with the name of the new season. As suspected, the map is very similar to Rebirth in terms of scale, but the layout is different enough to create a new flow or experience. Each POI is listed below.
- Smuggler's Cove
There are 12 points in total that make up the new Fortune's Keep map, and they certainly fit the theme of smugglers on a rich island. But they also serve a purpose in creating a flow that differs from the Rebirth Island style.
Most of the action on Rebirth Island would take place in the center, especially because most of the major POIs were located there. Plenty of loot would spawn, along with players, and of course a high score. In the center of Fortune's Keep, there is no major POI.
The closes point would be the Gatehouse, which is somewhere in the middle of north and center. It leads to the Keep, which could be a major contention point. But in Warzone Season 4, it appears that the goal is to make fights much more common and rewarding on the edges of the map.
Will Fortune's Keep replace Rebirth Island in Warzone Pacific Season 4?
Based on descriptions of Rebirth Island in earlier blog posts from Call of Duty, it appears that Rebirth Island will be going away. Aside from the leaks, there was a mention that the island would need to be evacuated for one reason or another. Of course, that evacuation will happen as Season 4 arrives.
That creates the opportunity for Fortune's Keep to become the new map for the smaller Battle Royale mode. Considering how long Rebirth Island lasted, it was only a matter of time before the change happened. With Warzone 2 around the corner, this could be the last major map change we get.
