Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Free Multiplayer Weekend: Start Date, How To Play

Despite Modern Warfare 2 having been in our lives for a good number of months now, launching back in September 2022, there are still players that have yet to purchase the full game. This could be down to time commitments, price, or even just concern over the current state of the game. Fortunately, Activision provides these players with regular opportunities to test out Modern Warfare 2 at no extra cost.

In fact, in the newly released Season 4, players can once again test out all of the new features that have arrived in Modern Warfare 2 without needing to own the full game. As part of this latest free Multiplayer weekend, players can try out the brand new Core and Battle Maps that were added in Season 4. This includes:

6v6 Core Maps:

• Al Bagra Fortress
• Breenbergh Hotel
• Dome
• Embassy
• Farm 18
• Kunstenaar District
• Mercado Las Almas
• Shipment
• Shoothouse
• Showdown

Battle Maps:

• Ahkdar Village
• Guijarro
• Mawizeh Marsh

Players will also be able to play through Core Modes, Hardcore & Third Person Modes, Party Modes, Battle Map Modes, and more. So, when does the Season 4 free Multiplayer weekend begin?

Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Free Multiplayer Weekend Start & End Date

The Season 4 free Multiplayer weekend for Modern Warfare 2 will begin on June 22, 2023. It will run up until June 26. Players will have access to over 20 modes and over 10 maps across the Free Access period, including feature snew for Season 4.

In order to join in with the free Multiplayer weekend in Modern Warfare 2, players will need to download the game via their system's respective digital storefronts. Console players can enjoy the Free Access via PlayStation or Xbox, while PC players can access via Battle.net or Steam. 

Players who enjoy their time with MW2 over the free weekend can also take advantage of certain deals cropping up across every platform:

PlayStation: June 21 to July 5, get 30% off the Modern Warfare II Vault Edition.

Xbox: June 20 to June 28, get 45% off the Modern Warfare II Cross-Gen Bundle.
