Earlier in August, Vikram “Vikkstar” Singh Barn, in partnership with the Call of Duty League, announced the biggest Warzone tournament to date.
It is called the Vikkstar Warzone Showdown, and it kicks off on 27th August 2020, promising some of the best and most entertaining Warzone esports action. Here’s everything you need to know.
About Vikkstar’s Warzone Showdown
The Vikkstar’s Call of Duty Warzone Showdown comes from YouTube content creator Vikram “Vikkstar” Singh Barn in partnership with the Call of Duty League and isn’t just a single tournament. Instead, it is split up over eight qualifiers, and a finale.
Vikkstar’s Warzone Showdown will run for nine weeks, and at the end of it all, a champion will be crowned.
This is the biggest Warzone tournament to date, and in the first week, we will see some of the biggest name streamers ever compete as captains.
Prize pool
There’s a massive $210,000 combined prize pool to fight for in the Vikkstar Warzone Showdown tournament. With eight weeks of qualifiers, each qualifier has a prize pool of $20,000, with the following prize pool distribution:
- 1st place – $12,000
- 2nd place – $6,000
- 3rd place – $2,000
For the Grand Final showdown, there’s $50,000 up for grabs, with the following prize pool distribution:
- 1st place – $30,000
- 2nd place – $12,500
- 3rd place – $5,000
- 4th place – $2,500
If that’s not enough, there will also be some prizes, with weekly prizes including headsets, monitors, Call of Duty Points, and Gulag caps all up for grabs for viewers.

The teams
For the first week of the Vikkstar Warzone Showdown tournament, top streamers including the likes of DrDisrespect, TimTheTatman and 14 others will captain the teams competing.
Each week, tournament entry will be open to a maximum of 16 teams, consisting of one streamer captain, in addition to one teammate of said captain’s choice.

Format
The tournament format for the Vikkstar Warzone Showdown is a bit different for the qualifiers, compared to the finals. Week 1 to 8 events will feature a two-game, double-elimination bracket format.
The week 9 finals will feature the top eight teams from the first eight weeks, as well as Vikkstar’s team.
These teams will compete in a 90-minute elimination race, with the combined score from the best three games.
There’s a quarter-final, followed by a semi-final in two single-elimination brackets. The top two teams will then compete to determine the overall tournament winner.

Vikkstar’s Warzone Showdown tournament runs through multiple weeks of qualifiers leading up to the finals.
Week 1 is scheduled to start on Thursday, 27th August at 19:00 BST.
Week 2 is scheduled for Friday, 4th September at 19:00 BST.
