Warzone Secrets of the Pacific: Start date & time, challenges, rewards, more

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone are set for another prelude event for Season 1, called Secrets of the Pacific.

During the Operation: Flashback event last week, we had a chance to revisit and relive iconic Verdansk moments from the past year and a half, and now the Secrets of the Pacific event will slowly introduce players to the newest Warzone battlefield - the Caldera map.

Season 1 will rebrand the Call of Duty battle royale, soon to be known as Warzone Pacific, stranding players on the Pacific island known as Caldera, which will serve as the new Warzone map - bigger, more detailed, and with more things to interact with compared to the bleak old city of Verdansk.

As a way for players to get familiar with the map and to slowly transition the story to the Pacific theatre, Activision is bringing the Secrets of the Pacific event. Here is everything we know about it.

What is the Secrets of the Pacific event?

The Secrets of the Pacific event will serve as a way for the story to progress from Verdansk to Caldera.

During the event, players will learn about Caldera and its important characters. The uncovered intel will help players learn more about the mysterious Caldera map, both in terms of gameplay (major points of interest will be revealed and explained) and in terms of the narrative and how all of that fits into the current story.

Start date and time

Based on the current plans, the Secrets of the Pacific event is set to kick off on 24th November, but it should be noted that the start of Season 1 and the addition of the Caldera map have been postponed for a week, which might push back the starting date of Secrets of the Pacific.

For now, Activision didn't state that the date for Secrets of the Pacific will change, but that still remains a possibility.

The exact starting time is also yet to be revealed, but we expect it to kick off around 7 pm CET / 1 pm ET / 10 am PT.

Secrets of the Pacific challenges

Beenox, the event's developers, haven't yet revealed the details about the challenges which we will have to complete during the event.

But we do know there will be a specific set of challenges in both Warzone and Vanguard. Unlike previous events during the Cold War era, this time around each game will have its own set of tasks and rewards.

In their blog post about the pre-season schedule, Activision shared one example of the new challenges, in which we will need to acquire and protect Pacific artefacts "while fighting to survive in Verdansk".

Rewards

The rewards haven't yet been officially revealed, but some of them have slipped into the game when the Operation Flashback event arrived last week.

These rewards are new Calling Cards that depict POIs from Caldera, the new Warzone map. They are called Hospitable Resort, Home in Paradise, Marina Street, and Treasure the Scenery.

As already mentioned, there will be unique rewards for both Vanguard and Warzone, but if you are concerned that this means that you will miss out on some new Warzone items going forward if you don't own Vanguard, you shouldn't be worried, as this separation of challenges is a one-time thing only. Future events will have shared challenge progression just like before.

And that's about everything we currently know about the event. As soon as Activision reveals more details, particularly all the challenges and rewards across both games, we will update the article, so make sure to check us again!
